got craft? :: 2014 spring applications

25 Feb

Got-Craft-PostcardsOh, hey! It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Our holiday break turned into a new year break and here we are almost at the end of February! So, what’s new with all of you? We both started work contracts at the beginning of the year and have been busy getting those set up. We’ve also been waiting patiently for more updates on our shop space for London Fields Shoppe. If you have been following along, we first viewed the space 39 weeks ago, signed our lease 18 weeks ago, and are happy to announce that we finally received a permit for phase 1 of our renovations! It’s definitely been a long process, but we are super excited to move forward with an expected opening in early May 2014! We’ll be posting more pictures once we get everything going, so please follow along here as what will be one crazy ride! Thank you to everybody that visited us at our pop-up shop last month. If you missed it or have your heart set on something, we’ve been shooting products all week and will have them listed in the online shop soon.

Also, I’m jumping in here quickly to let everybody know that applications for the Got Craft? 2014 spring edition close at midnight (PST) on Friday, February 28th. Here are the details for the upcoming event:

Got Craft?
Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th, 2014

A trip to the fair

21 Aug

going-to-the-fair-1going-to-the-fair-2going-to-the-fair-3going-to-the-fair-4going-to-the-fair6going-to-the-fair-5We, with what seems like the entire City of Vancouver, attended the free day event at the Pacific National Exhibition yesterday. The PNE is an annual fair similar to a country fair in the United States with animals, amuseument park rides, fair food, a marketplace, etc. Although, their focus over the past few years seems to have shifted towards more entertainment and less canned goods, quilting, and ribbons for the best pie. This year, the PNE is celebrating their 100th year and you can check out their digital book here to read about it’s history and to view images dating back from the very beginning. The PNE is on until September 2nd, so don’t miss out on the mini donuts and cotton candy – our yearly tradition! What are your fair favourites?

Hey! Just a friendly reminder that vendor applications for the Got Craft? holiday edition on Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th at the Maritime Labour Centre close this Friday, August 23rd at 23:59. For more information including an online application, click here!
