Oh, hey! It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Our holiday break turned into a new year break and here we are almost at the end of February! So, what’s new with all of you? We both started work contracts at the beginning of the year and have been busy getting those set up. We’ve also been waiting patiently for more updates on our shop space for London Fields Shoppe. If you have been following along, we first viewed the space 39 weeks ago, signed our lease 18 weeks ago, and are happy to announce that we finally received a permit for phase 1 of our renovations! It’s definitely been a long process, but we are super excited to move forward with an expected opening in early May 2014! We’ll be posting more pictures once we get everything going, so please follow along here as what will be one crazy ride! Thank you to everybody that visited us at our pop-up shop last month. If you missed it or have your heart set on something, we’ve been shooting products all week and will have them listed in the online shop soon.

It’s that time of year again! The next Got Craft? Holiday Edition will mark our 14th show in Vancouver and we are super excited to announce an amazing line up of crafters! The holiday show is always a big event for us and we have tons of fun things planned including new DIY workshops, longer hours, wine and beer service, a new look book, new swag bags, and more giveaways! Check out the full line up >> here <<
We want to thank everybody that took the time to submit an application for this years’ show and are grateful for the amazing support that we received. Each year, the number of applications outweigh the available spaces and it is always a difficult process to narrow down our vendor list. To continue our goal to make it the best event that we can, we are happy to announce that 25% of the vendors at the next show are new!
Thank you to MailChimp, UPPERCASE, Poppytalk, Scout Magazine, Matchbox Creative, Square, Locomotive Clothing, and Spool of Thread for the continued support.

In conjunction with the Sign Painter movie, SMASH Gallery of Modern Art presents One Shot at Glory: The Art of the Sign Painter featuring Sign Painters from British Columbia and Washington.
The show is a celebration of tradition and an exploration of a time honoured art bringing together 8 artists, working in the same field, each with a unique style. As recently as 1980, hand lettered signage was the way to create a unique advertising for a company, from window lettering to huge hand painted ads adorning the side of buildings, even Vancouver has a rich history of Ghost signs all over the city. With the advent of dye cut and vinyl lettering and access to quick and cheap banner printing, the Art of the hand painted sign has been replaced with the homogenous three-colour banner and LED screen.
