field trip :: carters steam fair

15 Jul

It seems that everytime we visit a fair, it rains, but the rain never lasts long and the trip to Wandsworth Common to check out the Carters Steam Fair was well worth it. The largest original touring vintage (pre-1960’s) fairground in the world, the Carter’s Steam Fair is a family run business that tours during the summer and spends the winter decorating rides, applying gold leaf, sign writing and restoring the vintage rides.

Visit their website here to see where they will be next.

Lovely pictures, shame about the weather! The sun actually came out for a decent amount of time on Sunday!

    Thanks for blogging.
